VIDEO: This goes out to anyone who has ever fallen asleep on public transport and missed their stop

Hopefully she had an understanding boss.

Aoife Kelly, a 31-year-old billing analyst from Stillorgan in Dublin, got in late on Sunday night and was slightly worse for wear on Monday morning.

Having fallen asleep on the Luas into work, she woke up to this.

While you might think it was all just a very, very bad rain shower, she had in fact slept all the way to Sandyford depot and only woke up when it was going through the Luas wash.

“I got on at Balally and woke up at the Sandyford depot,” she tells us.

“The driver said he’d checked in his mirrors but hadn’t spotted me.

“Thankfully he was able to let me off about 15 minutes later. I’d woken up to a Luas maintenence guy waving and banging on the glass, before we went through the washer.

“I think the Luas driver gave his colleagues a good laugh as well as they spotted me hopping out afterwards.”
