Evel Knievel wowed global audiences with his daredevil antics on the bike, but we found the Offaly version just as entertaining in its own right.
Ray Dooley stepped into the shoes of American Robert Knievel and while his attempts to get airborne didn’t quite work out as planned, his mates got a great kick out of his venture. And so did we when we saw the video.
A housing estate in Birr was the scene of the attempt and fair play to Ray for his bravery, but alas it wasn’t to be, though it didn't come as a huge surprise to him as we hear him shout something on the way about a “bad idea”.
