Video: Hilarious and VERY NSFW news segment about oil spill in Ohio turns out to be fake…

This really was too good to be true...

This really was too good to be true…

The following video has been doing the rounds online as of late and it supposedly features a live local broadcast covering a crude oil spill in the Colerain Township, Ohio.

The local news reporter was ‘sent down to the spill’ to find eyewitnesses willing to give interviews. What she found was a man named Fred and this is what Fred had to say… WARNING: The following footage features some VERY NSFW language.

Now, while the footage of Fred is absolutely hilarious, it’s also fake. Reddit user Ryan0617 debunked the footage last night saying that it’s the work of the 33-year-old videographer and expert video editor, John Cain.

Here’s just one of John’s blog posts that Ryan0617 believes proves the videos are fake: “They say it’s hard to make a video that is good enough to go viral. I have been making video’s [sic] for years and some of them went viral. I like making funny videos that make people laugh. My 2014 goal is to make at least one viral video every month for the whole year. Making videos and editing them is a big hobby of mine so lets see if I can be just as good as the pros.”

In fairness, you can tell that something is amiss in the video above, as the ‘reporter’ seems to pre-empt the comment by edging the mic away slowly before Fred says anything NSFW.

And in case that wasn’t enough proof for you, here’s another NSFW ‘news broadcast’ featuring the same old man named Fred…
