Video: Incredible footage shows how a young elephant survives an attack from 14 lions

This elephant is brazen if nothing else...

This elephant is brazen if nothing else…

There is something strangely fascinating about watching animals in the wild and the fact that the Battle at Kruger has 75 million views on YouTube is proof of this.

When we saw this clip of a young elephant being chased and hunted by 14 hungry lions we were immediately captivated and we won’t lie, we were screaming at the video for the elephant to escape. Sometimes it’s hard to be unbiased in journalism…

We loved the plucky nature of the elephant and his literal never say die attitude, he even charged at the lions but got caught up in his own adrenalin and nearly landed himself in trouble again.

At moments in the video you can see up to six lions holding onto the elephant as he makes a desperate run towards the relative safety of the watering hole. Apparently, cats don’t like water, so we’re going to keep that in mind next time our cat starts hissing at us from their spot on the couch…

The New York Post reported that the footage was recorded at the Norman Carr Safaris Chinzombo Camp in Zambia and that the elephant has since been reunited with his herd or parade, as we now know it is called.

You may not have seen the video of the Irish people getting up close and personal with elephants while on safari a few weeks ago but we urge you to take a look at it now as well as the lioness hunting with a GoPro on her back.

Watch the full video of the elephant escaping the lions below and we can personally guarantee you will be rooting for the elephant…
