Because that extra few seconds of ridiculous posing makes a whole lot of difference.
In this day and age when the vast majority of people are in possession of a smartphone, normal poses for pictures simply don’t cut the mustard anymore and photo-bombing/pulling a ridiculous face just as the camera is about to go off is the done thing.
It’s particularly true of younger people and of students and while it’s all well and good to look back over those hilarious pictures in still form immediately after or the next day, they don’t look quite as good when it turns out that a video camera was recording the subject of the photo for some time and the awkwardness of holding the pose for longer than a split second is there for all to see.
Realising that there was a lot of fun to be had at a lot of people’s expense by doing just that, a member of the Nottingham Trent Students Union took to a nightclub and captured some brilliant and terribly awkward footage of students thinking they were posing for photos and holding said poses for way longer than should be necessary.
As you’ll see above, the end result is just great, if more than a little embarrassing for some of those caught in the trap.
