Video: IndyCar driver drops glass trophy on the podium

Sébastien Bourdais managed to bring his IndyCar home in second place at the Toronto IndyCar GP over the weekend, but he couldn’t keep a hold of his trophy on the podium and now has a million little reminders of what happens when glass falls.

Sébastien Bourdais managed to bring his IndyCar home in second place at the Toronto IndyCar GP over the weekend, but he couldn’t hold onto his trophy and he now has a million little reminders of what happens when glass falls.

There was a bit of an embarrassing moment for Sébastien Bourdais over the weekend when his second place trophy fell apart before his eyes and bounced along the podium before shattering into tiny little pieces. Take a look…

In fairness to Bourdais, that didn’t stop him from lifting his half-trophy high above his head, as you’ll see in the pic above (Bourdais is wearing the black overalls). And we wouldn’t feel too bad for him either, considering he has a rake of other trophies sitting at home…
