VIDEO: Irish housemates stage an impromptu mass to say farewell to a friend before he moves out

Is there anything to be said?

Conor Heneghan

We reckon the guy saying mass here missed his true calling.

Pretty much every big occasion you can think of in Ireland is associated with mass in some way, shape or form and as the video below illustrates, you don’t always need a church to celebrate one.

Shane Connolly was moving out of his house in Enniscrone in Sligo recently before going back to college and his housemates decided to mark the occasion in the most fitting way possible, to say a mass for Shane in the house.

Ye are daft cunts. Crying laughing????

Why Shane’s mate, Daniel Farrell, has his pants down we’re not entirely certain and a combination of a candle, a white sheet (courtesy of costume designer Aoife O’Dowd) and a few drinks meant it very nearly ended in disaster.

That said, Brendan Devaney makes for the most charismatic and convincing priest since Buzz Cagney of Father Ted fame and if Shane is blessed with housemates like this in his new abode, then he’s a lucky man.

Cheers to Brendan Devaney for sending this our way. If you have something you would like to share with us, send it to [email protected] or hit us up on Facebook or Twitter
