VIDEO: Irish mammy’s emotional reaction to her son arriving home after a year away

Joe Harrington

This is class.

The next few weeks are going to be very special as Irish people living abroad come home to their family and friends for Christmas.

JOE reader John McAleenan returned home from New York at the weekend and he decided to say nothing to his mammy and surprise her at home.

John told us, “My brother picked me up from Dublin airport at 6am Saturday morning, I flew back from New York. This video was taken at about 8am in the morning.

“She hadn’t a clue I was coming back at all. Priceless feeling to surprise her.”

Probably one of the best things I've ever done, so glad to be home after a year x #christmassurprise

The caption of the video is, “Probably one of the best things I’ve ever done, so glad to be home after a year x”. A lot of people will feel the same in the next few weeks.

Cheers to John McAleenan for sending this our way. If you have something you would like to share with us, send it to [email protected] or find us on Facebook or Twitter.
