Farewell, sweet prince.
Some men become so attached to their beards that they treat them like their children; they love them with all their heart and to be separated from them is the source of much heartbreak.
Irishman Joey Redmond decided to part with his facial fluff recently and it can’t have been an easy decision; as you’ll see by the size of the beard, it wasn’t something Joey grew in a few days.
Before he shaved it off, Joey decided to give his beard the send-off it deserved, gradually deconstructing it on a stage-by-stage basis on Snapchat, incorporating looks like The Sea Captain, El Bandito, loose cannon detective and your friend’s weird Dad along the way.
The use of Kansas’ Dust in the Wind – the same tune played at Blue’s funeral in Old School – as the backing track, illustrates just how poignant an occasion this was and it’s clear to see that there was more than a hint of regret about Joey’s decision afterwards.
At least it got a fitting send-off.
