VIDEO: ‘Just say hello’ – an evocative piece about the loneliness of being homeless

Tony Cuddihy

This is very, very powerful.

The importance of just stopping for a moment to acknowledge people who are homeless in Ireland is the message at the heart of this video, made by Assembly.

It’s a touching and very human piece of footage.

“The homeless crisis in Ireland is the worst it has been in 30 years,” say the people behind this short film.

“Life on the streets is unimaginably difficult, scary and dangerous.

“We spoke with some of the homeless about their life on the streets and the difference between someone walking by and someone taking the time to stop and say hello.”

Many thanks to Rebecca Bourke for sending this our way.
