Video: Le Mans driver crashes Ferrari 458 Italia during free practise

There are still two days left until the famous Le Mans 24-Hour race gets underway, but one driver from the US has already wrecked his expensive Ferrari 458 Italia racing car.

There are only two days left until the famous Le Mans 24-Hour race gets underway, but one driver from the US has already wrecked his expensive Ferrari 458 Italia racing car.

It’s been a bad start to Le Mans for the American entrepreneur and amateur racing enthusiast Tracy Krohn after he went flying into a tyre wall at over 100mph in his Ferrari 458 Italia. Skip to 30 seconds to see the crash…

Thankfully, Krohn wasn’t injured and was later released from hospital with nothing to report. Sadly, the same can’t be said for his gorgeous Ferrari 458 Italia racing car. The crash completely dismantled the tyres in the protective tyre wall and and made light work of the reenforcing cement behind them.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen Ferraris involved in big crashes at Le Mans. Last year we saw Pierguiseppe Perazzini in his Ferrari F458 crashing into the Toyota TS083 of Anthony Davidson…
