This CCTV footage shows an alleged shoplifter shove a €480 chainsaw down his shorts and nonchalantly stroll out of the store as if everything is completely normal.
28-year-old Adam Ballard was filmed attempting the robbery at Treasure Coast Lawn Equipment store in Port St Lucie, Florida, and was arrested by police after the incident.
The suspected crook, overlooked a number of ‘minor’ details while attempting his crime; first and foremost, he doesn’t seem to realise that the fella behind the counter has the CCTV on the screen in front of him. He also overlooks the fact that the chainsaw is not a tool which can be comfortably concealed under a pair of shorts… we thought this one would be pretty obvious.
The workers followed him out of the shop but Ballard discarded the chainsaw and made his getaway on a bike before later being arrested by police.
It’s all above board though as the man said he was just ‘borrowing’ the machine and would return it later. It was all just a big misunderstanding.*
