The Norwegian rally-driving duo of Marius Aasen and co-driver Marlene Engan suffered one seriously nasty-looking crash at the Sigdalsrally in Norway yesterday…
Thankfully, both Marius and Marlene are okay following the crash, which left their Ford Fiesta rally car on its roof in a mangled state.
Norwegian co-driver Marlene (pictured below), who studied journalism here in Ireland, thanked friends and fans for their warming messages on Facebook: “Thank you so much for all the Nice messages Marius and I’ve gotten!”
“Everything went so well, and we had not a single off before a bounce threw us off the road and the car a total loss! We were on the way in to our best overall placement with R2en! My body is bruised today, but otherwise ok. The car, on the other hand, it’s not so good”.
It was certainly one painful-looking crash and, as Marlene said, it’s not the best way to start off the 2014 season, but at least the pair are okay and hopefully they’ll be back up and driving in no time…
