My lovely Mayo mammy, not always so gentle or so kind.
Last Sunday was Mother’s Day and most of us took the opportunity to pay tribute to the most important woman in our lives by buying her flowers or taking her out for a nice dinner.
JOE reader John Roddy from Ballina in Mayo obviously had other ideas because his mother has not been on the receiving end of that sort of affectionate treatment of late at all.
Today, John sent us in a compilation video of him repeatedly frightening the sh*te out his mother and actively seeking the exact reaction you’d expect from someone who doesn’t take kindly to having the sh*te frightened out of them.
To be fair to her, not once does she resort to swearing, not even when being scared half to death while wielding an electric carving knife.
Her comeback line at the very end, meanwhile, is brilliant and straight out of the highly effective ‘I’m not angry, I’m disappointed’ school of parenting.
Gas.
