In fairness, Morgan Freeman could read the back of a box of Corn Flakes and it would sound suitably epic.
In case you’ve been hiding under a metaphorical rock as far as the Internet is concerned, by now you’ll have heard ‘The Fox (What does the Fox say?)’, a silly but surprisingly catchy number by Norwegian comedy duo Ylvis which has accumulated over 160 million YouTube hits to date.
It’s not so popular that acting legend Morgan Freeman knows what it is, however, or at least he didn’t know what it was until the folks at screen junkies decided to have a bit of fun with him and fellow legends Robert de Niro, Michael Douglas and Kevin Kline during a promotional interview ahead of the release of their new film, Last Vegas, next month.
Freeman was asked to deliver a dramatic reading of ‘The Fox’ and was followed by De Niro doing likewise with Miley Cyrus' ‘Wrecking Ball’ Kevin Kline with One Direction's ‘Best Song Ever’, and Michael Douglas with ‘Chinese Food’.
It was a departure from what they all are used to but they seemed to get a kick out of it and, we think you’ll agree, their versions are all infinitely better than the original songs in the first place.
