Video: Ruairí McSorley appears on The Saturday Night Show

He's off to talk to "Eileen" in the States next

Brendan O’Connor just can’t keep up with Derry’s favourite son.

Ruairí Caoimhín Rapheal McSorley made a guest appearance opposite Brendan O’Connor on The Saturday Night Show last night, and it may have been his best performance yet.

We’ll be honest and tell you we had as much trouble as Brendan in deciphering what the frostbitten one was chatting about.

How and ever, we did gather that there’s a wan called Eileen (sic) DeGeneres (“we’ll have to get a wee run out to see how generous she really is!”) who wants to bring the great man Stateside.

Our favourite line comes when O’Connor asks whether they all talk like him up in Derry. With considerable understatement, Ruairí replies: “Well, they mightn’t all be as mad as pish as me!”

Gold.

As for the grand cailíns getting Ruairí tattooed on their backsides, well, that’s the dream right there…
