Video: Russian firefighters use several fire hoses to create deadly makeshift hovercraft

We’d like to think these are the type of shenanigans that go down in every fire station when firemen aren’t on the job.

We’d like to think these are the type of shenanigans that go down in every fire station when firemen aren’t on the job.

It might be a lazy stereotype, but from our experience at least, a lot of Russian people seem to have a bit of screw loose upstairs, especially when it comes to any form of motor vehicle.

Thankfully, while the majority of the videos we feature from Russia involve dash-cam footage of accidents and dangerous behaviour on the road, the latest one involves couple of fire engines, loads of fire hoses and the coolest makeshift hovercraft we’ve ever seen.

As you’ll see in the video above, it takes a while to lift off, but once it does it rises at a pretty steady rate and were it not for the fact that it was died down using a fire engine and another unspecified anchor out of shot, who knows how high it could have gone?

Although we lack the required equipment – fire engine, fire hoses etc. – we’d love to give it a go, if only to replicate the excellent flappy bird impersonation of the fearless fireman who volunteered to be at the centre of the experiment.
