The folks at Sesame Street have become experts at this type of thing lately and their take on The Hunger Games is just as good as the rest.
Following in the footsteps of the likes of Homeland (Homelamb) and Boardwalk Empire (Birdwalk Empire), The Hunger Games is the latest popular film/TV series to get the Sesame Street parody treatment as the Cookie Monster stars in The Hungry Games: Catching Fur.
The latest instalment in The Hunger Games has been attracting rave reviews since its release earlier this month as Katniss and Peeta Mellark embark on a ‘victory tour’ of the districts while rebellion brews in the post-apocalyptic nation of Panem.
In the Sesame Street parody, the Cookie Monster stars as Cookieness Evereat with Pitta bread filling in for Peeta Mellark as they try and determine which foods to eat in order to win the Hungry Games.
While the absence of the real-life Jennifer Lawrence in anything Hunger Games-related is always going to be a disappointment, this is funny, charming and even a little educational and another top notch effort from the Sesame Street crew.
