VIDEO: This small, important step will make your rasher sandwich a lot better

Cathy Donohue

Mmm… Rashers.

There’s a lot to be said for the humble rasher sandwich but it’s difficult to cut the meat in a way that ensures you get bacon in every bite.

If you cut it into small pieces, it goes everywhere, and if you leave it whole, then half comes off in one mouthful.

Anyway, there’s a way around this, simply by making the meat into a lattice shape before cooking.

There are various YouTube videos featuring how to make the perfect bacon lattice with this offering from Justin Chapel, he of Food & Wine, proving one of the most popular.

It’s not complicated, just placing bacon slices on top of each other to make an interlocking pattern but the end result is well worth a couple of extra minutes prep time.

This isn’t a new trick but it’s doing the rounds of the internet again and we figure that if you haven’t tried it already, this is a tip that needs to be shared with bacon-lovers everywhere.
