Smart Canada was recently tasked with making an advert for the all-new Smart fortwo electric drive. So they decided to have a drag race against some extremely powerful cars.

Unsurprisingly, the small all-electric fortwo doesn’t do too well against the de-bagged Ford, Audi and Porsche in the quarter-mile drag race, but as you’ll see there’s a surprising twist at the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1iJJZfB7i0 The race wasn’t to see who could cross the quarter-mile line first, but instead, the real race was to see who could cross the 5-metre line the fastest. The nippy little fortwo wins every single time. Like we said, it’s a very clever ad and someone in the Smart marketing department certainly deserves a raise, or at the very least a pat on the back.
