The NYPD show they take no prisoners when it comes to heckling comedians in the middle of a gig.

American comedian Adam Newman recently had his set interrupted when the NYPD came into the comedy club to arrest an audience member. Newman was about half-way through his set when flashlights appeared to his left and soon it became apparent that it was the NYPD coming in to apprehend someone in the crowd.

Newman reacts, as anyone would, with bafflement and asks what is going on, only to be met by some expletives from the arresting officers who don’t take kindly to the comedian trying to make light of the situation.

In fairness to Newman he handles it quite well and the arrest is all over in a very short space of time. There wasn’t much point in him continuing his set after that and the rest of his stage time becomes a post-mortem on what just happened. We’re just curious as to what exactly that person was arrested for, as is Adam…
