Video: The brilliant Cork version of The Sopranos opening sequence

In memory of James Gandolfini here’s another look at a YouTube classic by Alan Burns.

In memory of James Gandolfini here’s another look at a YouTube classic by Alan Burns.

Shot by Alan Burns while he was a student in Tralee this clip is four years old but considering the tragic death of James Gandolfini yesterday, it is well worth another look in tribute to the great man.

Using the legendary opening sequence of David Chase’s show as its base, this clip transposes New Jersey for Cork and it works spectacularly well.

We understand Alan is now in Vancouver but if anyone out there knows him tell him we’re big fans of this clip.

Thanks to Ed McSweeney as well for the reminder, we never get tired of seeing this.
