Rallying is a pretty dangerous sport as it is, but this driver and co-driver in Argentina turned the danger levels all the way up to 11.

If something goes wrong with a rally car when it’s out in the middle of a stage it’s up to the driver and co-driver to get it back to maintenance area in one piece, no matter what.

So when the accelerator pedal stopped working on this rally car, the co-pilot decided to open up the bonnet and sit on top of the engine in order to manually control the throttle… as you do.

You’re probably wondering how the driver managed to see where he was going even with his co-driver sitting in the engine bay? Well, according to the description on YouTube he simply stuck his head out the window.

It was a ridiculously dangerous tactic, but pretty impressive all the same.
