The first new music from Monty Python has been released on the same day that the comic troupe announced their London show in the summer would be their last.

The Silly Walks Song is a cheerful little tune with a very-strong anti-establishment/materialism message at its heart.

In other words, it’s very Monty Python and catchy as hell.

The Pythons – John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin – announced their reunion in November last year and subsequently received offers to perform all over the world.

However, their July 20th performance at London’s O2 Arena – tickets for which go on sale tomorrow at midday – will definitely be their last.

“The very last night of the Pythons, our last show ever, is going to take place on the 20th of July, 2014,” Palin said.

“Be there or, err, don’t be there if you don’t want to.”
