Video: The latest Tullamore Dew ad is all sorts of cool… and Irish

Nothing says ‘Irish’ like a trilby-wearing hipster singing an awl trad ballad in the rain while drinking a glass of whiskey in front of a grave…

Tullamore Dew’s latest advert blends rustic Irish values with a nice modern twist, as four hipster-gentlemen take a walk in the rain before making their way to the gravesite of one of their brothers.

The lads raise a drop of whiskey while singing the classic folk song “A Parting Glass” before one of them runs off to his waiting bride. Take a look below…

The video was created by the New York ad agency Opperman Weiss for Tullamore Dew’s ‘Irish True’ campaign and it was shot in and around Saint Kevin’s Chapel in Glendalough earlier this year.

Speaking about the video, Paul Opperman, creative director and co-founder of Opperman Weiss, said: “We wanted it to be so infallibly ‘Irish True’ that there was no possible way to question it. It had to be filled with what you see, which is the spirit of what Ireland really is.”
