50,000 M&M’s get turned into a piece of art at Dublin’s O2.
Music and M&M’s have a chequered history. Van Halen famously banned brown M&M’s from the backstage area in their 1980s pomp and with a slightly different spelling, Marshall Mathers propelled the name to the top of the charts.
Now Dublin’s O2 has gotten in on the M&M’s action. To celebrate the opening of The M&M’s Zone at The Premium Club at The O2 this Sunday, they asked Dublin artist Tony Byrne to create a mosaic for the occasion.
Armed with 50,000 M&M’s in various colours, Tony had 24 hours to create a masterpiece. This timelapse shows how he did it and what the finished product is like.
We reckon we would have finished with about 300 M&Ms’ and a guilty conscience if left with that many sweets for 24 hours but Tony is a stronger, and significantly more talented man than us.
