Video: The new Limited Edition BMW Puma evoSPEED 1.2 football boots are very, very cool

Is it too late to put these on the Christmas wish list?

Is it too late to put these on the Christmas wish list?

Regardless of whether or not it’s too late, you’d do very well to get your hands on a pair of these babies as there are only 535 pairs available; the reason behind that fairly arbitrary figure is that they are inspired by the BMW M5, and 535 is the car’s series number.

The other traits the boots have in common with the car is that they are lightweight (7oz) and they encourage speed, while a 3-D grip pattern is intended to provide a cleaner touch on the ball for those lucky enough to be wearing them.

Not only do they perform well, the boots certainly look the part in lovely red and white with a classy BMW logo on the heel and a signature M on the side and if they weren’t so hard to get, we reckon they’d prove particularly popular on the playing fields in Ireland and beyond.

This isn’t the first association between a sportswear brand and a car manufacturer – we can think of links between Porsche and Adidas and Puma and Ferrari in the past, for example – but this is arguably the most attractive example of that type of tie-in we’ve seen yet.

So what’s the verdict boot lovers, yay or nay?
