Video: This dinosaur prank from Japan is a little cruel but still hilarious

We jest of course. If programmes like Takeshi’s Castle are anything to go by, the Japanese love seeing people being humiliated, hurt or embarrassed on live television, as was the case with the poor fella who thought he was being chased by a dinosaur indoors in an elaborate prank for a Japanese TV show.

This video has been around for a few weeks at this stage but only appears to have gone viral in recent days, which must be a source of annoyance for the victim of the prank as to say he was scared sh*tless would be something of an understatement.

By using a very convincing-looking dinosaur (albeit one with legs that are clearly human) and by using extras supposedly running for their lives, the prank was very well staged and it achieved its purpose of frightening the life out of the poor lad, who we have a degree of sympathy with as we probably reacted in a similar fashion under the circumstances.

Cruel? Yes. Funny? Also, yes.
