Festivals usually have a mellow and chilled vibe as people pay their hard earned cash for one reason and one reason only, the great toilet facilities.
Kidding, it’s all about enjoying the music and having a good time but unfortunately, in any large gathering of people, you’ll always find one or two bad eggs that try to ruin the craic for other people.
SXSW is one of the biggest film, arts and musical festivals held in the US and it seems that this festival goer was overstepping his boundaries before the police had to intervene and arrested him following a brawl at a local restaurant in Austin, Texas.
The police placed the man in handcuffs and restrained him on the ground but he wasn’t going to be taken to prison easily.
We wonder if fleeing the scene of a crime and blatantly disobeying a police officer is in violation of his Miranda rights?
Maybe he was just exercising the right to consult an attorney before speaking to the police? We doubt it.
