This group of amateur fishermen had a seriously close call recently when a massive marlin jumped straight into their boat as they sailed around the Dominican Republic. Skip to 0:28 to see all the action.
Two of the lads in the boat had a seriously close call with the 158kg (350lbs/25 stone) fish but thankfully they manage to get out of the way and hold onto the marlin before it can do any real damage.
The video’s uploader left a small message over on YouTube and it answers the question of what happened to the marlin in question: “We billfish for the sport of it, not to kill. You have no choice when something like this happens.”
Oh… at least they ate well that night.
