VIDEO: We invited the inspirational hairdresser for the homeless to Dublin and this is what happened

Paddy McKenna

There are record numbers of people sleeping rough in Dublin City Centre.

If ever there was a time where we needed someone like Joshua Coombes to come to Dublin to do what he does, this is it.

If you follow Joshua on Instagram you will be well aware of the incredible work he does as a hairdresser for the homeless.

It’s not rocket science. He notices people living their lives on the street. He takes the time to talk to them, to ask their name, hear a bit about their lives and he gives them a haircut.

We were approached by JOE reader Aidan Savage who suggested we bring Joshua to Dublin – we loved the idea. We spoke with Joshua and he was very interested in coming to Dublin. Even in London he’d heard quite a bit about the Irish housing crisis and he was eager to spread his ethos here – #DoSomethingForNothing.

We were delighted to partner with the Dublin Simon Community who are doing unbelievable work with the homeless in Dublin and this is what happened.

Dublin Simon Community have their annual 5 mile Fun Run this Saturday and you can find out more about it here.
