JOE teamed up with Ballygowan and the Irish Cancer Society to B part of the campaign that celebrates the wonderful people that help and inspire us to make the most of life.
We ran a two-week long competition asking readers to tell us about the person who inspires them and why they deserve a special prize to reward them for just for being great. Readers had to send in a blurb via Facebook, email, Twitter outlining why their chosen person deserves a treat and we got loads of great entries, making it very hard to choose a winner.
However, we just had to give the nod to Calvin Barry Doherty, who nominated his mother, and she was a very deserving winner. Calvin nominated his mother as his inspirational person so the pair were invited out for a meal at Independent Pizza Company, Drumcondra on July 8.
We surprised Calvin and his mother at the restaurant to give Calvin’s mum another real treat – a spa break to a 5 Star Luxury Spa destination in Ireland.
The new Ballygowan Gold bottles in the shops are all part of a summer-long campaign supporting the Irish Cancer Society to raise awareness of cancer and raise much-needed funds for specialist nursing care.
