But we won’t because there are only 100 pairs being made. Dang.

Along with the Adidas World Cup, it’s hard to think of a more iconic boot than the Puma King. Like its Adidas counterpart it is particularly beloved of GAA players (or at least it was until very recently) while various versions of it are worn and have been worn by some of the most famous footballers in the world.

The boot has been in existence since 1968 and ahead of the World Cup, Puma have teamed up with renowned fashion designer Alexander McQueen to produce a special hand-crafted version of the boot, 100 versions of which (in two different styles – 70 brown, 30 fish-skin) will be given to a select and incredibly lucky group of people before the football showpiece in Brazil this summer.

The video above gives a detailed insight into the process involved in making the boot and while they (the brown ones we mean) might look a bit old and possibly a bit too traditional for some, we’d certainly give them the thumbs up.

What’s the verdict, boot-lovers?
