This brilliant sketch from the lads at Plae Pen Productions and Viral M takes a look at one patriotic Irish lad whose world gets turned upside down overnight…

Could you imagine the horror of waking up in the morning, only to realise that the Ireland you know and love is gone forever, as is your Irish girlfriend named Gráinne and your favourite tin whistle? It would be horrible, wouldn’t it?

Well, that’s exactly what happened to this poor lad named Seán who, in the video below, wakes up to find that Ireland no longer exists in his new freakish world.

Not only does Ireland not exist, but all of the great things that have happened to the country cease to exist too, like Michael Fassbender and the Titanic, which was instead built in Germany and, thanks to it’s precision engineering, actually managed 700 voyages over and back from the US safely… which is actually kind of a good thing.

Anyway, sit back, relax and start praying to the Big Fella that Ireland doesn’t disappear overnight.

The short, called “If Ireland Didn’t Exist,” was produced by ViralM, created by David Atkinson and Steve Kampff and stars Lisa Keegan and Kristian McGrath. For more from ViralM, check out their website here.
