The woman who was on a charity walk had hoped to raise awareness for breast cancer certainly achieved that after her aerial mishap.
Florida native Wanda Keating McGowan was walking over the bridge over Fort Lauderdale’s New River when the unfortunate incident occurred.
According to The Telegraph, witnesses said alarms sounded to indicate that the bridge was about to raise, but the woman did not manage to make it off in time, and was left clinging on between two railway tracks.
Dangling 22 feet in the air, the 55 year-old had to wait for 20 minutes before being brought to safety by firefighters.
