Lithuania’s very raunchy tourism campaign is exciting people for obvious reasons

Paul Moore

Hits the spot.

Bursting with excitement? Ready to pop at the sheer mention of a holiday? Feeling hard up in work and in need of a break? Feel shafted by the modern grind?

Yeah, we could continue along these puns but we’d be afraid to be penalised. Anyways, finding the right spot to hit can be difficult because there are so many destinations to choose from.

On this note, Lithuania’s capital city, Vilnius, has done its very best to seduce tourists by launching a very raunchy campaign to get people to visit the city. “Nobody knows where it is but when you find it – it’s amazing!,” yep, we definitely never had that lesson in geography but there are perfectly legitimate reasons for this sexified campaign.

1) Sex sells, d’uh. 2) The new campaign was launched on 8 August (otherwise known as International Orgasm Day) and after it became viral, we reckon the organisers are pretty pleased to see the results.

In fact, the landing page for vilniusgspot.com is very cheeky because it gauges the interests of potential tourists by asking them some ‘interesting’ questions.

Well, do you think that there’s no such thing as too much tongue?

Duuuuuuuuurty.

There’s no need to say 10 Hail Marys though because these questions actually have a genuine purpose – your answers will actually generate a list of the city’s best places for you to visit that are tailored to your response.

They say that the sign of a good marketing campaign is if people are talking about it and on that note, Go Vilnius has already reached ‘the big O.’

Oliver, John Oliver. See, he was even chatting about it on his show.

Why? What did you think this whole campaign was about?

Orgasms, it’s orgasms. Big gigantic orgasms with massive feckin’ bells on them.

Tip of the, erm, hat to the people that came up with it.
