WATCH: Air New Zealand’s new safety video with Anna Faris is bizarrely excellent

Alan Loughnane

They’re known for creative videos and this one is no different.

You may have seen some of the other video efforts Air New Zealand has made, such as the absolutely brilliant hobbit-themed safety video from last year.

They called it the most epic safety video ever made and it’s definitely a contender…

But this year, they’ve teamed Starring Rhys Darby, from Flight of the Conchords, and Anna Faris in an elaborate video to ensure that all passengers are up to date with the safety instructions of the cabin crew. Although, is it just us, or is the message lost in the mini-drama that unfolds on screen?

The pair play out the standard messages from cabin crew in a series of scenes from gritty cop dramas to rom-coms.

We’d give good money to see an Irish version of this, but it’d probably end with something along the lines of, “It’ll be grand”.
