WATCH: Cat rescued from the River Liffey

Looks like it’s true what they say about nine lives…

An unfortunate cat ended up fighting for its life in Dublin’s River Liffey earlier on today, but there were scenes of celebration on the river’s banks when someone rescued the poor puss by tossing in a lifebuoy.

It was a tense few seconds as it remained to be seen whether the cat would hang on to the buoy, and whether it could cling on as it was slowly raised to safety, but thankfully there was applause and cheers as the animal was saved.
