WATCH: This is why Al Porter donated the entire proceeds from his final live show in Vicar Street to Pieta House

JOE

Pure class.

Al Porter is a man on a steep upward trajectory. In four short years, he has become a household name and is selling out venues across the country in record time.

The young man from Tallaght has exploded on to the Irish comedy scene and on Friday night he won an IFTA in the Gala TV Rising Star category. There is simply no stopping the smartest dressed man in comedy.

On Saturday night, in Vicar Street, his sixth sell-out show there in the past few weeks, he stopped the madness that is his live show for a few minutes to perform a Bette Midler song, The Glory Of Love.

He spoke of a school friend who sadly passed away and how it made him realise how lucky he was to be in the position he is in right now. He then announced that all the proceeds from his show there in Vicar Street on Saturday night were to be donated to Pieta House.

An incredible gesture.
