WATCH: Comedy sketch perfectly sums up Irish men trying to chat up American women

Alan Loughnane

This is every Mayo man ever…

Irish men while often thinking we’re a shower of charming b*stards, we don’t actually know a whole lot about women… apart from the fact they’re scary and should be both loved and feared.

All jokes asside, there’s a stereotype of an Irish man that goes over to America on a J1 bringing nothing with him but a couple of pairs of shorts and his county minor jersey.

While over there he will get burnt profusely but still never learn his lesson to put on sun cream, and if he visits San Francisco, there will be an obligatory snap with the Golden Gate Bridge.

When it comes to talking to women over there, Foil Arms and Hog (who did a great sketch on Brexit recently) show that a lot of the conversation gets lost in translation.

She will not understand what a ride or a shift is and she will not care about the All-Ireland you won with the Kilkenny minors four years ago.

Foil Arms and Hog nail it once again…
