WATCH: Connacht rugby star John Cooney plays the Dustin Hoffman role in clever recreation of The Graduate

JOE

“Mrs Robinson, you’re trying to seduce me.”

One of the most iconic lines in cinema history was uttered by Dustin Hoffman in the 1967 film, The Graduate. Hoffman played 21-year-old Benjamin Braddock, the graduate in question, and the subject of the amorous advances of his father’s partner’s wife.

It is a film jam-packed with memorable scenes (even if you have not seen the film, you will be familiar with the wedding scene, thanks to The Simpsons).

Irish designer Brendan Courtney has recreated the film’s poster, with the help of Connacht scrum-half John Cooney, to celebrate the rugby player becoming the face of Irish suit brand 6th Sense.

The uncapped Cooney will travel to Japan as part of the Ireland squad this summer and fans will be glad to see he certainly looks more unflappable than Braddock in the video below.
