WATCH: An even bigger Project X style house party in a popular student estate in Limerick

College Court in Castletroy, Limerick seems to be the go-to place for house parties.

Students in the University of Limerick returned to college after the Christmas holidays this week and as students tend to do, they marked their return by throwing themselves headfirst back into the social scene.

Footage recorded at a house party showed a huge crowd of students gathered after hours at a residence in College Court, a house party that was eventually called to a halt when Gardaí arrived.

As it turns out, it’s far from the first ‘Project X’ style house party to take place in that particular part of Limerick; according to one JOE reader who wishes to remain anonymous, they are part of a series of events called Funk’N’Filth, events at which some well-known Irish DJs turn up to perform.

The JOE reader in question gave us a heads up about a similar event that took place in College Court at Halloween, when DJ Robbie G brought the house down.

This one, we’re told, wasn’t shut down by Gardaí, despite, as you’ll see below, there being quite a crowd in attendance (approximately 600 people, apparently).

We’re sure you were dying to hear ‘Shane Long’s on Fire’ again anyway…
