The former runner came in for some heavy criticism just over a week ago when, upon learning of boxer Michael O’Reilly’s positive drug test, expressed relief that it hadn’t been ‘an athlete’.
He suffered a more minor form of mortification last night on the Rio Olympics RTÉ panel when his phone went off as he was speaking to Peter Collins.
Luckily, he sort of saved the situation by making simply the most overtly frustrated face we’ve seen on live television in a long time.
Apparently nobody has ever taught Jerry how to play it cool…
