WATCH: John Oliver uncovers a very sneaky political tactic in the latest Last Week Tonight

Rory Cashin

We all kinda love John Oliver, don’t we?

When he decides to make fun of something, we know that we’re going to get a smart and hilarious take-down of that topic, and that doesn’t matter if he is taking aim at Donald Trump or Marijuana.

Even over the weekend, he managed to make fun of his TV show’s home HBO and some of the other shows on there with him, like VEEP, Game Of Thrones and The Leftovers.

Anyways, his latest episode of Last Week Tonight goes deep on a political move that very few people know about, but is one of the most maliciously used weapons of power we’ve ever heard of.

Known as “Gerrymandering” – yes, the segment goes into where it got it’s name from, and yes, the origins of the name is hilarious – it basically involves politicians cutting up a map in order to get votes from specific people during specific years.

While that sounds vaguely harmless, Oliver uncovers just how duplicitous an action it really is.

And, obviously, while making it all very, very funny.
