WATCH: Rory’s Stories great sketch about every Irish person in a heatwave is very relevant today

Conor Heneghan

If this isn’t you, then it’s somebody you know very well.

On the very rare occasions that temperatures reach the mid to late 20s and even early 30s in Ireland as they did today, Irish people nearly have a default response.

If there’s a beach nearby, it will be paid a visit. Spending an evening like this without having a pint outdoors seems like a waste. There’ll always be at least one person sayinfg that “a drop of rain would be no harm”. And a 99 cone is mandatory.

Those habits in the heat are pretty accurately reflected in a great sketch by Rory’s Stories that’s more relevant today than on any other day in 2016; if you don’t know at least one person that’s just like this then we’d be amazed.
