WATCH: Sharon Ní Bheoláin gets attacked by a fly while reading the news, handles it like a boss
Sharon Ní Bheoláin is pretty fly.
The RTÉ newsreader had to keep her cool during the Six-One News on Thursday night when she was set upon by an aggressive fly.
The veteran presenter was in the middle of introducing a report about the closure of one Ireland's biggest livestock marts in County Laois when she's rudely interrupted by the buzzing, winged menace, but she doesn't even break her stride when the thing tries to fly into her mouth.
It also makes a go for her nose and her eyes but she carries on with minimal fuss, just swatting it away. Very well handled.
Fair play to Sharon Ni Bheolain for not flying off the handle @rtenews 😂 🦟 #flygate #buzzoff pic.twitter.com/Htud7QR7kf

Needless to say, Ní Bheoláin won a fair bit of praise on social media for dealing so calmly with the incident.
What kind of steroids was that fly taking that attacked poor Sharon Ni Bheolain?!! Have to give it to her though she continued on like a trooper 🙌🏼🙌🏼 #RTENews #9oclocknews

The Montrose flies have form for this kind of behaviour. Three years ago they lashed out at former Dublin coach Anthony Daly during an episode of The Sunday Game.
