WATCH: This Donegal town came up with a remarkable way to remember late loved ones this Christmas

What a fantastic and touching idea.

Earlier this month, you might have heard about the very special lights display in the town of Glenties in Donegal this Christmas.

After struggling to come up with the funds for the Christmas lights display in the town, local businesses in the community came up with an initiative known as ‘Let your loved one light up Glenties’ as a way to light up the town and remember late loved ones in the process.

Residents of the town were invited to buy bulbs in memory of their deceased family and friends as a way to remember them each Christmas and in the end, according to Donegal Now, a whopping 1,640 bulbs were bought for the display.

After the town was featured on RTÉ News earlier this month, Bradas O’Donnell of Jackson Media convinced Patrick Monahan, best known as the lead singer of Train (the band behind ‘Drops of Jupiter and more hits) to introduce a video documenting what really is a wonderful initiative on behalf on the entire community.

Fair play to all involved.

Cheers to Bradas O’Donnell for sending this our way. Got a story for JOE? Hit us up on Facebook or Twitter, send it to our WhatsApp number 087-4001102 or mail [email protected].
