WATCH: Tourism Ireland say this is what tourists should pack when holidaying in Ireland

Two words: Rain gear.

The tourism industry in Ireland is in a pretty great place at the moment; 5.4 million people came to visit us from overseas from January to July of this year, representing a massive 12.7% growth on the same period in 2015.

With so many tourists coming to Ireland and because many of them might not know exactly what to expect, Tourism Ireland have put together a short, handy guide to what people need to back before they make the trip.

Every season is accounted for in the video below, but given the unpredictable nature of Irish weather, you pretty much have to prepare for every eventuality no matter what the time of year.

So, warm clothes, suncream, an umbrella, sterling if you’re going up to the north and about five different types of shoes.

We’re going to need a bigger suitcase…
