WATCH: This wonderful montage of famous Irish moments and Barack Obama has made us proud to be Irish

JOE

Late Late Show RTE

As Obama leaves The White House today, and we ponder what the lays ahead for the American people, and people everywhere, we’re reminded of his little visit, and some of the epic words he had to say about our great little nation.

Obama addressed up to 60,000 people at College Green in Dublin, and his stellar words of praise will always be remembered – Is Féidir Linn. The strength in these three words gave everyone a little glimmer of hope in 2011 when the country was on its knees.

“Yours is a history frequently marked by the greatest of triumphs, the deepest of sorrow, but yours is also a history of proud and defiant endurance, a nation that kept alive the flame of knowledge in dark ages, then overcame occupation and outlived fellow fields that triumphed over its troubles of resilient people.”

“America will stand by you, always.”

“This little country, that inspires the BIGGEST of things…. your best days are still ahead.”

This incredible montage captures of the most inspiring moments in Irish history, our greatest heroes, and the moments of unbelievable greatness that our tiny little island has achieved. This video echoes Obama’s words, the Irish no matter how small our country is will always be loved, always be resilient, and always be able to achieve anything.

Yes. We. Can.

Enjoy this. And re-watch it again and again.
