The weather forecast for the weekend is looking pretty delish

Weather

It’s said to be a very pleasant one.

We’ve been blessed with a few scorchers this week, with temperatures across Europe climbing so high that records are being broken left, right and centre.

This is obviously the result of a climate crisis that might end up killing us all, but why not enjoy the sun during our few remaining years here on earth?

You never want to say it too loudly, but it could even be argued that a few of the days this week have been, perhaps, too hot.

With that in mind, the weather for the weekend sounds almost perfect, with Met Éireann forecasting temperatures in the low 20s, accompanied by a breeze.

According to the latest forecast: “Saturday will be mainly dry as well with sunny spells and just the odd shower. Highest temperatures 17 to 20 degrees. Winds will be light westerly or variable.

As for Sunday, we can expect: “Highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees, coolest in the northwest, in light northwest or variable breezes. Isolated showers overnight, otherwise dry. Minimum temperatures 10 to 14 degrees.”

Maybe most importantly is that it should be easier to sleep tonight: “It will be much fresher tonight compared to recent nights with lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees.”

So there’s a lot to look forward to.

There is also an active Status Yellow small craft warning in effect for boats in Irish water: “Southeast winds, veering southwest this morning will occasionally reach force 6 today on all Irish coasts.”
